Near Field Communication

Before i come into the topic i have some questions that relate the topic.👉👉

Have you ever travel through Metro 🤔and have you paid your bill💰 in the shop using your credit or debit card💳.

Is yes,did you notice that..When you goes on the metro station with your metro card and at the time of entrance of the station you have to tape your card in the machine that installed on the gate of entry.

Metro Card
Then the gate will automatically open and you may enter. The ticketing amount will automatically deduct from your metro card which you have just tapped on the machine earlier. It's so fast no.NO need  of manual work.At that time the read and write of information between card-machine take place.

Many of you have used this technology on your new smartphone or tablet for sharing the photos  and for sharing wifi password ( Just tap on the NFC tag you will connect to the wifi) also with speakers and the smart watches in fact because of this technology we are able to use the mobile payment services like Google Pay Samsung pay and the Apple pay etc.

So let's understand what is the mechanics behind the NFC?

NFC means Near Field Communication. It is a short distance wireless communication technology. So when two NFC enabled devices are very close to each other roughly around 4 cm  then they can communicate with each other using the radio waves now out of the two communicating devices at least one device has to be an active device like smartphone tablet or the payment terminal while the other device can be active of the passive and the example of the passive device is NFC tags.

Now here the active device means the device which requires the external power supply while the passive device does not require any external power supply and it is powered by the electromagnetic field of the active device.
NFC enabled devices are able to communicate with each other using the radio waves and his radio waves are generated using the antenna.
so if you think the case of smartphone then the antenna is fitted on the battery or sometimes on the side of the back cover. This antenna can send some information and also can receive the info.
If we categorized the data transmission in this scenario we have three types of modes ⮯⮯⮯

  • Peer to peer mode
Both device should be active and connected.
  • Read / write mode
In this type of mode other device can read the information stored on the other one and may rewrite it.
  • Card emulator mode
In this mode we can use NFC as a card like ATM card.
With the use of these NFC modes of our requirement the data transmission process become so easy and very fast.

Hope you have learnt something interesting and new from this article in easiest way. If so then do comment, and share it 📲📲 with your friends🤼 and👨‍👨‍👦‍👦 family members.
